Summary of the 2/07 newsletter

The central theme of the newsletter in 2007 is change. In this second newsletter of the year this theme is illuminated in three ways: first, in the interview with Britta Kroker, who, from being programme head at the Campus Publishing House became an on-line book dealer, then there is the progression from specialist to manager, which is of relevance with regard to coaching instruments and, finally, as far as post heroic management is concerned the primary issue is the renunciation of every kind of appraisal.

Britta Kroker was head of the Campus Publishing House programme and, during the course of the last few years she oversaw the company’s transformation from a specialist to a renowned popular publishing house. She has now changed sides and founded the on-line book store managementbuch.de. Peruse the interview to discover what motivated her and what chances of success she perceives. However, just how forcefully her switch to self employment released positive energies also becomes manifestly apparent.
     
  2. If, as their next step on the career ladder, a successful high performer is offered management responsibility it is an illusion to believe that this step can be mastered without difficulty.
